It’s important to find the right fit
The ‘therapeutic relationship’ is central to successful therapy.
For counselling to work as well as it can, it’s important to find a therapist that you feel safe with. The dynamic between client and counsellor will naturally develop over time, but I recommend speaking to several different counsellors to find the right person for you.
I offer a free, no obligation 20-minute phone call to see if we are a good match for each other. Please contact me to arrange a suitable time.
My values and background
I believe we all posses the ability to find purpose and satisfaction in our lives, live according to our values, and learn how to make choices that are not governed by our early relationships or the challenges or traumas we’ve experienced.
My clients have told me that they find me warm and approachable. I can sometimes be direct, I may use humour, and I’ll probably challenge you (although always with kindness).
Working with diversity is an underpinning value I hold. Age, gender, race, sexuality, personal beliefs or neurodivergence should never be a barrier to receiving support or being treated with respect.
I have also worked as an artist, tutor and facilitator. These roles have interwoven and informed each other, and have all held my values and aims of providing empowerment, connection, fostering collective purpose and meaningful relationship at their core.
What I can support you with
I have experience in many areas, including:
anxiety
depression
trauma
relationship difficulties
attachment issues
bereavement and loss
family dynamics
identity
support for neurodivergent clients
My training
I am currently completing a level 6 Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling at Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling.
The course is well recognised for being thorough, demanding and deeply experiential, and it has provided me with a rich and rounded perspective of myself as a woman and as a practitioner. I have been in training for four years, and I have been cleared to start private practice. I’m now writing my dissertation, and when submitted and passed I will be fully qualified. My fees reflect the fact that I am still in training.
I am a registered member of the BACP, and have full insurance and legally compliant systems for GDPR and client confidentiality.
